Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (Mashrafe Mortaza) known as “Narail Express” is a famous Bangladeshi cricketer are current captain of the One-day and T20 tournament for Bangladesh cricket team.
Mashrafe was born on 5 October 1983 at Narail District in Khulna. His nickname is Koushik. His father Golam Mortaza is a businessman and mother Hamida Mortaza is a housewife. Mashrafe received his early study from Narail Govt. Primary School. He completed his secondary study at 2001, from Narail Govt High School. Then he completed his HSC from Narail Victoria College, at 2003. After passing HSC, Mashrafe got himself admitted into the department of Philosophy at the Jahangirnagar University.
Mashrafe Mortaza Career
Mortaza was interested in cricket from his young age, besides badminton and football. At the age of 11, he joined Narail Cricket Club by the help of Sharif Mohammad Hossain. Mashrafe first came into attention during on under-17 regional tournament. When he bowled fast slammed sixes and dived around without a care in the world.
During Under-19 team, he seized the eye of Andy Roberts, old fast bowler of West Indies, who was then the temporary bowling coach of the team and he advised to take Mashrafe to the Bangladesh-A Team.
After playing one match for Bangladesh he got chance to join Bangladesh National Team. Mashrafe made his Test debut against Zimbabwe at Bangabondhu National Stadium on 8 November, 2001. On that match he took 4 wickets for 106 runs. But the match was stopped due to rainfall and ended in a draw. His ODI debut was against Zimbabwe at Chittagong in November 23, 2001. The first T20I match for Mashrafe was also against Zimbabwe at Khulna Stadium on 28 November 2006. Bangladesh won by 43 runs on that match.
Mashrafe Mortaza Bowling Records
At 2006, Mashrafe was the worlds highest wicket taker. He was the man of the match in his slide’s shack victory over India in 2007 World Cup taking 4/38. Mortaza is considered one of the fastest bowlers of Bangladesh, usually bowling in the mid-135 Km/h and regularly opens the bowling. He is a lower-middle batsman, with a First Class century and tree half centuries.
With a lots of injuries on his knees, ankles, shoulder, Mashrafe keeps playing till date. For this great passion to cricket, he is known “The Prince of Heart” to the Narail dwellers.
