Soumya Sarkar is a rising medium pacer of Bangladesh cricket yard. He is the important player of Bangladesh Cricket Team who regularly opens with Tamim Iqbal. Soumya is a Bangladeshi successful all-rounder with left-handed batting style and right armed medium fast bowling style. He earned a lot of popularity within a very small time.

This famous cricketer Soumya was born on 25 February 1993 in Shatkhira to Kishori Mohan Sarkar an Education Officer of Narail District and Moumita Rani Sarkar. His nickname is Soumya and his mother calls him “Choto Babu.” He is the youngest of the three brothers named Pronob Sarkar and Pushpen Sarkar. He was the student of BKSP like other Bangladeshi cricketer, and now he is the student of Green University at Sociology and Anthropology department.

Soumya Sarkar Career

Soumya was very interested in cricket from his childhood by the inspiration of his elder brother Pronob Sarkar who was much addicted to cricket. While studying BKSP, he learned better cricket. In the under-19 World Cup in 2012 Soumya Sarkar took an important part and showed terrific performance in this tournament. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on December 1, 2014. His first test attempt was against Pakistan at Khulna on 28 April 2015. He made his T20I debut was Bangladesh VS Pakistan at Dhaka 24 April 2015 and made his T20 debut in Dhaka Gladiators VS Duronto Rajshahi at Dhaka on 27 February 2012.

Soumya Sarkar is a great cricketer who terrifically done well in 2015 World Cup. In home series, he has maiden outstanding hundred against Pakistan at Mirpur. At present Soumya is a top order batsman of Bangladesh cricket team. Besides National Team Soumya’s main teams are Bangladesh-A, Bangladesh Under-19s, Bangladesh Under-23s, Dhaka Gladiators, Khulna Division and South Zone (Bangladesh).
