Tamim Iqbal is one of the most popular opening batsmen of Bangladesh Cricket Team. When the world talks about aggressive openers of cricket world, they talk about Tamim Iqbal usually. Because already he has shown his capability to the world.

Tamim Iqbal is born on Monday, 20 March, 1989 at Chittagong. His full name is Tamim Iqbal Khan. His father late Iqbal Khan was a well known footballer. His mother Nusrat Iqbal is a housewife. Tamim is the brother of Test cricketer Nafees Iqbal and the nephew of Akram Khan. Tamim married his childhood beloved Ayesha Siddiqua in June 2013. He had his first son Mohammad Arham Iqbal in 28 February, 2016. His parental ‘Khan’ family is a prestigious and prosperous family in the Chittagong city.

Tamim Iqbal Career

Tamim was passionate to cricket from his childhood. He played Under-19 World Cup-2006 against Srilanka at Srilanka stadium. And he was picked for the 2007 World Cup. Because of his better performance of the World Cup2007, Tamim was chosen in the Bangladesh Team just playing two matches against Zimbabwe. He played against India in the group stage of the match scoring 51 from 53 deliveries. For his helping score his team won the match. Then BCB granted Tamim a one-year grade C contract, one of 22 central contracts held by the board at the time, that year in December.

Tamim made his Test debut in 4-6 Jan, 2008 at the University Oval, Dunedin against New Zealand; ODI debut in 9 Feb 2007 at Harare against Zimbabwe and made T20I debut in 11 Sep, 2007 at Nairobi (Gym) against Kenya. During the first innings of the first Test against England in March 2010, Tamim scored 86 from 120 deliveries and he became the fastest Bangladeshi batsman to reach 1,000 Test runs in term of innings taking 19 to reach the landmark. Behind Shachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Ashraful Tamim became the third youngest player in Test history to reach 1,000 Test runs. The major teams of Tamim are Asia XI, Bangladesh-A, Bangladesh Under-19, Chittagong Division, Duronto Rajhshahi, Nottingham-shire, Peshawar Zalmi, Pune Warriors, St Lucia Zouks and Wellington etc.

This left handed batsman takes a great part to upgrade the rank of Bangladesh Cricket team to the Cricket World.
